AI and Data Internship
The world of private equity is changing, and we would rather build that change than wait for it.
We are looking for an ambitious student to join us two days a week, in London or Amsterdam, to build AI tools and workflows for our team and get them into daily use. The work runs across how we source, screen, diligence, and monitor companies. Some of it will be quick automations. Some of it should change how the job is done.
It is a unique opportunity to get hands-on inside a European growth equity investor. You will work across the full team, see how the firm really operates, and help change that as you go.
This is a paid internship, three months to begin with and open to extension.
The full role description is below.
About Blume Equity
Blume Equity is a leading European growth equity firm investing into high-growth climate tech companies. We partner with exceptional entrepreneurs and businesses at the growth stage, providing capital, strategic guidance, and operational support to help them scale.
Role overview: AI and Data Internship
We are looking for a proactive builder; you will be the driving force behind building AI tools and workflows for our investment team and get them into daily use. This is a two-day-a-week paid internship based in Amsterdam or London, working alongside the people whose work you are changing.
AI is changing how investors work, and this role is an exciting opportunity to help transform our business while gaining hands-on experience in private equity.
The role has two sides. You will deliver quick wins and automations, but you will also build tools that structurally change how we source, screen, diligence, and monitor companies. You will spend time with colleagues across the firm, learn how we actually work, and then build.
Key responsibilities
Sit with members of the investment team to map how they work today, and find where AI changes the task rather than shaving a few minutes off it.
Design and build AI-supported workflows across sourcing, screening, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring, using the tools and models available to us.
Prototype quickly, test on real deals and real documents, and improve what you build on the basis of what colleagues tell you.
Drive adoption. Run short demos and working sessions, and support colleagues until the workflow sticks.
Help structure and improve the data we hold on companies, markets, and our own pipeline, so that it is usable by both people and models.
Follow developments in models, tooling, and agents, and turn the relevant ones into concrete proposals for the team.
What we are looking for
What matters is the combination of commercial understanding and AI fluency. A finance or business student who is comfortable with technology fits well, as does a student from a technical or AI background who can get to grips quickly with how an investment team works.
Essential:
Available for roughly two days a week.
Experience in building things quickly in Claude, such as projects, artifacts, automations, scripts, or agents.
Real AI fluency. You follow model and tooling developments closely and build with them, well beyond writing the occasional prompt.
A proactive self-starter with common sense, who seeks out colleagues, asks questions, and gets people using what you build. The role suits someone who enjoys working with the team rather than building alone.
Enough financial and investment understanding to follow a deal conversation and know what matters in it.
Fluent English, written and spoken.
Based in, with right to work, in the UK or the Netherlands. Need to be in the Blume London or Amsterdam office on workdays.
Desirable:
A previous internship at a financial institution, investor, start-up, or scale-up.
An interest in climate tech and in growth-stage investing.
A formal AI or machine learning master’s degree is not required. What you have built, and how quickly you learn, matter more to us than the qualification.
What you will gain
Ownership of your own work. You help choose the problems, build the answer, and see it used.
A close view of European growth equity and climate tech, covering how deals are sourced, screened, diligenced, and supported after investment.
Direct exposure to the investment team and to senior decision-makers, in a firm small enough that your work is visible.
Practical experience of applying current AI tooling to real professional work.
A portfolio of workflows in production that you can point to afterwards, and references from the people using them.
Application process
To apply, please submit your CV and a cover letter briefly detailing your interest and experience. In this letter, pick one task in an investor's week and say how you'd redesign it with AI. Please also include a link to something you have built, such as a demo, repository, short video, or screenshots.
Send your application to info@blumeequity.com.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with interviews conducted accordingly.
We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences.
